Solution:
Usually, this means the original submitter of the article has cancelled it (C command in rn). People sometimes do this when they post an article, then notice some gross error--they'll cancel that article and post a corrected version. Or, someone may follow up to an article and then notice that someone else has already posted the same information-- in that case, the author should cancel his duplicate article. Sometimes, system administrators will cancel an article, say, if it violates copyright law. Or, the article may be expired. Depending on the newsgroup, some site may archive expired articles; you should see mention of this if you read a newsgroup regularly. Other than that, there's no way to see "unavailable" articles.
