Solution:
If you are connecting to campus servers via SecureCRT the easiest method for transferring files is using Zmodem file transfers.
While connected to the machine to which you want to send files (eg. acme.gatech.edu) either type rz on the command line and hit return or select "Zmodem Upload List. . ." from the Transfer menu. A browse window will pop up which allows you to add the files you wish to upload to the list. Select "Close" when you have finished selecting files to send. Select "Start Zmodem Upload" from the Transfer menu and the files will transfer. ![]()
For downloads type sz filename at the acme prompt (replacing the word "filename" with the name of the file you wish to download) to begin the file transfer. It may help to remember that sz stands for Send Zmodem. You can list multiple files separated by spaces and you can use wildcard characters to specify all files matching a pattern you specify (eg. sz *.xls to transfer all Excel spreadsheets in the current directory).
NOTE: If you are transferring TEXT files, then you may find the UNIX commands "dos2unix" and "unix2dos" useful. Type "man dos2unix" or "man unix2dos" at your ACME prompt for more information.
