Solution:

To change your name, use the change finger name command ("chfn") on ACME.  Log into ACME and type:

chfn

You should see:

Enter new finger information for user userid or "none" to clear
[Current Name]:

When changing a full name, the current full name, enclosed between brackets, is displayed and prompts for a new full name.  If you press RETURN, the full name is not changed. If the full name is to be made blank, you must type the word "none".
