Solution:
- Type "Pnews" at the acme prompt (notice the capital 'P').
- You will be asked to type the name of the newsgroup(s) you wish to post to. Multiple groups should be separated by commas (no spaces).
- Next, you will be asked for a distribution. You can just hit <Enter> here. See below for an explanation.
- You will be asked to type in a subject.
- You will be asked to confirm that you really want to post the message.
- You will be asked for a prepared file. This can be any ASCII text file that you have already created and simply wish to post as is. The default is "none". If you choose the default (by hitting <Enter>), you will be asked which editor to use to create a new message. The default is "vi". You can hit <Enter> to use "vi" or type the name of another editor, such as "pico".
- When you are done typing the message, exit your editor as usual. If asked to save a file, accept the name given and save it.
- You will now have several options before posting the message.
- Press 'c' to check spelling.
- Press 's' to send the message.
- Press 'a' to abort the message.
- Press 'e' to edit the message.
- Press 'l' to list (display) the message.
- After choosing an action, hit <Enter>. This is the last step. If you choose 's', your message will be posted and you will be back at the prompt.
Distribution: The Distribution allows you to say which news servers should have your message. For example, you can choose to post only to servers at Georgia Tech or only servers in the United States. You can choose from the following distributions:In practice, this option is not that relevant any more. Most news servers ignore this option and simply grab and display messages regardless of the intended distribution.
