Solution:

Sending attachments:

To send an attachment with Pine, the file you want to send will need to be in your home directory.

1. Start Pine
2. Compose a new message
3. Hit Control-J to attach a file
4. Type in the name of the file or hit Control-T to get a list (use the arrow keys to choose)
5. Compose the rest of the message as you normally would and send it

Viewing attachments:

You will not be able to view an attachment that is anything other than plain text (Images, Word documents, etc.) directly. You will need to transfer these types of files to a computer with the appropriate software for viewing them.

1. Open the message with the attachment in Pine
2. Hit 'V' to view attachments
3. Use the arrow keys to choose the attachment you want
4. Hit 'S' to save it as a file in your home directory
5. Hit <Enter> to accept the given file name or type a new one and then hit <Enter>
6. Quit Pine
7. Transfer the file to a computer that can view it (most likely your desktop computer) using FTP, Zmodem or some other method
