Solution:
Start the Eudora program, and go to the top menu bar and select [Eudora] and then [Preferences]. A screen similar to the image below will appear. Choose each illustrated category in the left pane and make the configuration changes displayed in the following screen shots.
Under Getting Started, complete the fields as shown in the image below:
Faculty/Staff should use their e-mail alias (firstname.lastname@department.gatech.edu) in the Return address field.
For the (Incoming) Mail Server you should enter either 'imap.mail.gatech.edu' or 'pop.mail.gatech.edu'.
The address for the (Outgoing) SMTP Server is 'smtp.mail.gatech.edu'.
Under Checking Mail:
The Account/Server Information should reflect the settings outlined for your choosen IMAP or POP settings. The Mail Host and the Mail Protocol selections must coincide to avoid future error messages. The time intervals under Connection may be set to accomodate your individual needs. However, it is recommended that the check mail interval be set to a value of 10 minutes or more. This will help to alleviate server and network strain. The amount of time mail is left on the server should be set in accordance with your quota. Information about your SPECTRUM quota may be accessed at GT SPECTRUM mail quota.
Under Sending Mail
Allow Authorization must be checked to avoid Relay Access Denied errors.
Under Miscellaneous:
To enable SSL with either POP or IMAP, Use system keychain to store passwords must be selected.
Under SSL:
The setting should be 'Required (Alternate Port)' for both; SSL for POP and SSL for IMAP. SSL for SMTP should be set to 'Required (TLS)'.
