Solution:

To check your mail quota on the Spectrum mail system. Point your web browser to Spectrum Mail Quota.

If you are using 90% or more of your quota, you will receive a warning via an e-mail message and from your e-mail client itself. If you reach 100%, you will only get the warning from the e-mail client.
