How do I enable the built-in firewall in Mac OS X?

No votes yet

Mac OS X has a built-in firewall that will block most incoming network connections when enabled. It will not block outbound connections, so you still need to be careful about which applications you run. To enable the firewall:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Click Sharing
  3. Go to the Firewall tab
  4. Click the Start button
  5. Quit System Preferences
