Is dial-in phone conferencing available for WebEx?

GT Self Service WebEx provides a dial-in conference option with every call.

When you schedule a new conference, the WebEx system sends an email to participants with connection information.

The dial-in numbers and associated instructions are contained within.

The dial-in number is always the same. The meeting number changes with each meeting

How may I obtain assistance with an ongoing WebEx meeting?

If you desire assistance while an issue is happening “live,” the best way to get immediate response is to contact Cisco WebEx Technical Support at 866-229-3239.  This will allow you to bring a Cisco support engineer into the meeting to observe and diagnose the problem and provide assistance. Make sure to obtain the case number in the event additional follow-up is required. 

May I utilize the WebEx service from home?

Yes, WebEx may be accessed from a home internet connection. Depending on the connection capabilities, you may experience some loss of quality if there is a slowdown in service provided by your Internet provider.

 

May I invite non-GaTech affiliated participants to a WebEx meeting?

Yes. By default anyone with a WebEx link (or Meeting number) and password may attend a GT Self Service WebEx Meeting.  In the case of scheduled meetings, as a part of the advanced scheduling options, a meeting host may require that attendees register for a given meeting. 

Why is there no audio in my WebEx meeting?

If you are a host of a meeting, you must enable "Voice Conference" after starting the meeting.  Voice Conference is not automatically started.  Note that "Voice Conference” is shown as connected in the right most image below and disconnected in the left most image.

Information specific to GT Self Service WebEx is available at http://webex.gatech.edu.

Cisco Provided Training is available via the Cisco Collaboration Help website. 

Within the webex.gatech.edu site, choose "FAQ" option

On the loaded page -> Link to "WebEx Training" is visible

How do I sign up for a WebEx account?

If you are Georgia Tech faculty/staff/student, your WebEx account is created when you first log in to Georgia Tech’s WebEx site at http://webex.gatech.edu.

If you cannot access your WebEx account, email webex-support (at) oit.gatech.edu for assistance.
