For over a year we have been working on the Next Version of Plesk Web Hosting. We have worked closely with community web advisors to make it the best offering possible. On August 11 2018 the OIT-SaaS team will make it available to the Georgia Tech community! We know you will be as excited as we are by this new offering: Better- Faster - More Powerful - With More Features!

So how is it different?:

 

  • ‚ÄčA new Operating System
    • Red Hat Linux 7
  • A new version of Apache
    • Apache 2.4
  • Nginx has been added to the service
    • Nginx 1.13.8
  • A new Database
    • MariaDB 10.1
  • New Server PHP
    • PHP 7.1
  • A new version of the Plesk application
    • Plesk Onyx 17.8
  • More versions of PHP available
    • php 5.6
    • php 7.0
    • php 7.1
    • php 7.2
    • Default php is now FPM served by Apache with a Nginx front end
    • Service plans with FPM served by Nginx with caching are available on request
  • In-line Help Center now available in the Panel
    • This can be collapsed
  • Soft quotas have been implemented
    • Plesk
      • Resource Usage:
        • Disk space:  10 GB
        • All site data, backups and databases are included in quota
        • Customers will get an email when the site reaches 90% of quota
        • Customers will get an email when site reaches or exceeds 100% of quota
      • Traffic: 100 GB/month
        • All inbound and outbound traffic are included in quota
        • Customers will get an email when the site reaches 90% of quota
        • Customers will get an email when site reaches or exceeds 100% of quota
      • Backups:
        • Keep incremental backup files for 5 weeks
        • Incremental backups older than 5 weeks will be removed
        • Limit of 5 full backups
        • The oldest full backup will be removed when a new full backup is created
    • Installatron
      • Application Installations
        • Limit of 5 per domain
      • Application Backups
        • Limit of 5 per installed application on each domain
  • Security
    • There have been many behind the scene security enhancements to the service
  • Installatron
    • We have streamlined the offerings in Installatron
  • New Tools (Extensions)
