How do I change my GT Account password?
OIT requires that you change your password about 3 times per year. If you do not change your password when asked, it will expire and you will not be able to login to various services such as My GaTech email & GTwireless. Once a password expires, you will still have 21 days to login to the PassPort service and change it. You will also be able to change your password beyond this time if you have previously set up Hinted login at https://passport.gatech.edu. Click on the "I have forgotten my password" link in the Help section. Remember that the answers to your Hints are case sensitive, etc. They must match exactly like you created them. Also, if you are asked for your Buzzcard number, enter it just like it is on the back of your card, including the 2 spaces.
There are a few guidelines you must follow in order to be in compliance with Georgia Tech's Computer and Network Usage Policy.
- Do not write your password down.
- Do not share your password with anyone. Not your secretary, not your parents... not even OIT.
- Avoid using people's names (especially your own), your GT Account username, and any word that can be found in a dictionary.
