Email Forwarding for Life is an email delivery service provided by Georgia Tech. This service allows "eligible users" to keep their custom Georgia Tech email address (email@example.com) after they have left Georgia Tech. You will not be provided with a Georgia Tech mailbox nor a web interface to send and receive e-mail. Your Georgia Tech email address will simply be an email address that delivers email to a valid third party, personal e-mail address.
To change the name or forwarding address for a "@gatech.edu" email address, use Passport. You will be able to access Passport with your original GT Account and password.
In order for your mail to be delivered to your personal email address, you must login to: http://passport.gatech.edu
*Note: If you do not see the option to Forward emails in Passport, it is because you are a "Current" Student, Staff, or Faculty member, on Export Control, have a security clearance, or you are currently working in an area that has placed a restriction on email forwarding. Students can be on email forwarding restriction as well if their department has requested it.
*Once you become a "Former" Student, Staff, or Faculty member (Once your office 365 mailbox expires), you will then be eligible for "Email Forwarding for Life"

*If you intend to save emails that are currently in your Office 365 mailbox, please archive these emails prior to making this selection or choosing external email forwarding. Failure to archive these emails can result in you losing access to your Office 365 Inbox.
1. Once logged into Passport (Passport.gatech.edu), click on the "Email Preferences" link on the left hand side, under the "Email" section.
2. Next click on the radio button next to "External Email Address" and type in your personal email address.
3. Click "Set Email Preferences".
4. A verification email will be sent to this new address. Please click the link in that email to finalize the change.
